Hoover (AL) End Union's 57 Game Home Win Streak In Battle of National Powers


Two up and two down for Hoover (AL). In week one of the 2006 high school football season, the Bucs disposed of Alabama's defending 5A champ UMS-Wright. Friday night, Hoover mowed down Oklahoma's two-time defending 6A champs Union 34-7 before 11,000 fans. The win snapped Union's 57-game home win streak.

Hoover QB Ross Wilson was almost perfect completing 8-of-9 passes for 150 yards and two touchdowns. He also directed a potent round attack that pounded the Redskins for 246 ytards.

Top Ranked Hoover (AL) Takes On Union

More and more, top high school football teams are taking their games across state lines. Last week it was Byrnes (SC) travelling to Glades Central (FL); this week Hoover, ranked #1 by several national publications, heads to Tulsa to take on Union, which brings a 57-game home win streak into the game.
