Union Wins Fourth Straight 6A Football Title

by Jeff Fisher
Oklahoma High School Football Huddle

For Union's seniors, Thursday night was a very special one as they all ended their high school football careers without experiencing anything other than a state championship.

The Redskins beat Broken Arrow 23-22 to win the schools fourth straight 6A gold medal and its seventh in the last 10 years.

This one may have been a little tougher than others as Union trailed 22-16 with less than four minutes to play.

Coleby Evans was the hero, returning a fumble 30 yards for a score; the extra point gave Union the gold.

by Jeff Fisher
Oklahoma High School Football Huddle

The two teams that have combined to win the last 15 Oklahoma 6A football championships played another classic Friday night in the state semifinals.

Union beat Jenks 30-29 to give the Redskins a shot at their fourth straight 6A crown.  This one was much closer than the Week 2 regular season battle that saw Union beat Jenks 40-19.

Next week, Union will play Broken Arrow for the 6A state title.

Oklahoma High School Football Scores - Week 6

by Jeff Fisher
Oklahoma High School Football Huddle

Union's 94-game district win streak came to a half Friday night in surprising fashion.

Owasso rallied from a 21-point deficit to beat the top-ranked Redskins 41-38.  The Rams needed almost the entire 60-minutes to put the game away.  The took their first-and-only lead of the night when Keon Hatcher caught a 5-yard touchdown pass with 10 seconds left in the game.
